Practice Keeping Your Wrist Action Quiet

Golf Putting  |  Instruction  |  Tips  |  Drills  |  Books  |  EBooks  |  DVD's  |  Training Aids  |  Putting Mats

One of the biggest issues that golfers face on the putting green is not being able to putt consistently well and I am sure that you have experienced days when every putt seems to drop and then other days you are just 3 putting everything.

There could be several reasons for this inconsistent putting and one of the most common reasons that golfers suffer from is allowing too much wrist action to get involved in their golf putting stroke.

When you start to involve the wrists too much in your putting stroke it opens the door to all sorts of problems and can make it very difficult to return the club head square at impact.

For the most consistent putting stroke you ideally want little to no wrist action involved and focus on pivoting your putting stroke from the shoulders, letting your arms, wrists, hands and putter work as one unit.

Excellent Golf Putting Drill To Help You Keep Your Wrist Action Quiet

1) First get hold of 2 golf clubs and hold one in each hand, then set up as if you are going to make a putt. Now separate the clubs so they are about 3 or 4 inches apart and parallel to each other.

2) Start to swing both clubs like you would during your golf putting stroke, the idea of the golf putting drill is to make sure that the clubs remain parallel to each other and at the same distance apart.

3) When you first do this golf putting drill you will be surprised at how difficult it is, but with a little bit of practice it will soon become easier. This golf putting drill will not only help you to reduce the wrist action involved in your putting swing but will also help to improve your rhythm and timing, giving you much more consistency in your golf putting performance!
