Golf Putting Drill To Help You To Improve Your Distance ControlStep 1 Try and find an area of the practice putting green that is relatively flat and measure a distance that is 3 feet away from the hole and mark it with a tee peg.Step 2 Now stroke 20 putts from that distance, using the same golf putting stroke that you have learned from the above golf putting drill on direction. Your goal here is to hit the putt with just enough pace so that it gently drops into the hole. Don't worry about the missed putts! the important task here is to make a mental note of how far you had to go in the backswing to achieve that required distance and file that feeling in you brain. Step 3 Now move the tee peg to a distance that measures 6 feet away from the hole and repeat the above process. Step 4 I think you probably know the next step.....move the tee peg to a distance that measures 12 feet away from the hole and repeat the same process again. Final Step After you have completed the above steps you should be getting a little bit of a feel for the different length backswing required to achieve certain distances. To finish the golf putting drill off, place a ring of tee pegs around the hole of about 3 feet distance away and practice putting the golf ball into that ring from several long distances away. N.B. At this point, it is important to mention that you should be using the same golf putting stroke all the way through this golf putting drill, the only difference is that you will find you will need to increase the length of your backswing to achieve the extra distance required (as your backswing increases, so will the acceleration through the ball). 'One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to decelerate through any golf shot, especially when putting, this is usually caused through fear of missing the putt. So make sure that you are accelerating through the ball at impact, and note that the through swing should be at least as long as the backswing! Golf Putting Drills To Improve Technique & Consistency:
