Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator Review

Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator Review Image

The Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator is the perfect tool for anyone who is looking to play more golf, improve their game and have more fun, as well as being one of the only golf swing analysis systems currently available that actually works and is affordable! In fact at under $400's the Dancin Dogg is by far the best value home and indoor golf simulation system, with the nearest rival being the P3ProSwing Pro Golf Simulator, that costs just under $600's.

The Dancin Dogg OptiShot Simulator package comes with a high tech sensing platform, that you use to play your golf shots from, a CD to install the highly advanced 3D golf software, that enables you to work on the changes that you need to make to your swing by using the excellent driving range facilities, or improve your course management by playing virtual golf on some of the worlds most famous courses, and a USB cable so you can link it all up to your PC.

The Dancin Dogg Infrared Optical Swing Pad!

The high tech sensing platform on the Dancin Dogg Golf Simulator, is also known as the Infrared Optical Swing Pad, has an extremely durable artificial grass top and 16 highly sophisticated infrared optical sensors that accurately measure the key elements of your swing, like club head speed, face angle, swing path and toe/center/heel-to-face contact.

Dancin Dogg Infrared Optical Swing Pad Image Due to the fact that the distance and direction that a golf ball travels in is determined purely by the exact point at which the golf club makes contact with the ball, the Infrared Sensors are focused on this shot impact zone, to capture shot impact conditions.

As it's just the impact conditions that these sensors are tracking, i.e. club head speed, face angle, swing path, contact position, etc, it is not essential for you to hit real golf balls. Foam, plastic or even no golf ball at all, will still provide you with the same effective results.

The critical information that the Dancin Dogg Infrared Sensors pick up on is instantly relayed to the 3D golf software program installed on to your computer, to provide you with a three-dimensional simulation of each shot you play and an extremely accurate analysis of your golf swing. You will clearly be able to see the shape of your shots, how far you are hitting the ball and more importantly, what areas of your swing need attention, to enable you to play better golf!

Virtual Golf Experience On World Class Courses

The Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator can be set up to support both right and left handed players and gives you the opportunity to test your golfing abilities and improve your course management skills on some of the worlds most famous golf courses, including Torrey Pines and Big Horn Golf Club in Southern California.

This amazingly lifelike 3D golf experience allows up to four players to play at the same time. Each player can use their own golf clubs and play each and every shot from tee to green. They can even putt out, if they would rather not use the automatic putting mode.

You also have the ability to fine tune the settings so that they are specific to your set of golf clubs, and if you are playing on your own and would like to improve a particular area of your game, you can do this by practicing shots from anywhere, on any golf course.

Things To Look Out For & Where To Buy!

Although golfers of all abilities and skill levels will reap the potenial benefits of using this highly advanced piece of golf swing simulation equipment, the Dancin Dogg Simulator Package will probably be more suited and provide more fun to struggling amateurs, beginner golfers and anyone who is looking to take the game up seriously.

The more accomplished player or pro golfer may find some of the little quirks a bit frustrating and may be looking for more technical information and a better experience out of their Golf Simulator. This of course will come at a price, as some of the more Advanced Golf Swing Analysis Systems can range anywhere from the $1,000's to $10,000's.

One important feature that the Dancin Dogg is missing though, is the angle of attack. Not only does this prevent the sensors in the OptiShot from detecting whether you've topped the golf ball or hit it fat, but angle of attack is also an important golf distance factor.

This is probably why some users are finding out that a few of their distance readings are not always that accurate. However, you can adjust the distances on (e.g. increase distance 10%, or decrease distance 5%, etc.) to make them align with your real ones.

Dancin Dogg does have a great function programmed into it, called 'virtual what if scenarios'. This function offers you the chance to still get real shot making learning-value no matter where you are.

It works by placing the ball anywhere you want on the course, select a landing area, aim and then enter in what if i use a 7-iron and what if i hit is at 80MPH and what if my club face is open 4 degrees. Then shoot. It doesn't replace the value you get from actually hitting a ball but it can still help give you a better idea of what's required to make the shot.

To take full advantage of the Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Swing Simulator, you only need a computer (minimum system requirements: Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7; 2GB of memory and 3GB of disk space; high end graphics card is also required for 3D golf) You also need to be aware that this golf swing analysis system is designed for indoor use only, so you need to make sure that you have enough space to be able to swing your clubs!

If you want to use real golf balls then you are either going to have to create some kind of make shift system, that will help to prevent your balls from smashing the place up, or take the plunge and buy yourself a decent quality Golf Driving Net. I have found that the Callaway Quad Driving Net, is great value and will be just perfect for the job!

Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator Review Image There are many online stores where you can purchase the Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator, but if you are looking for the very best deals, then i would highly recommend visiting Amazon.com!

If you are looking for much more out of your indoor golf simulator system and can afford to spend a lot more money on it, then you may very well be interested in purchasing OptiShot's upgraded version called the Complete OptiShot Golf Simulator System.

This system includes a fully enclosed hitting net, the latest Optishot software, Vivitek projector, Adjustable ceiling projector mount, cables and Compaq computer. Or maybe try checking out some of the other Best Selling Golf Swing Simulators currently available.
