This new
forged
composite material is the lightest, strongest and most
precise material that Callaway have ever created. Used in the crown, this new material contains up
to 10
million turbostratic carbon fibers that make up 33% of the overall
clubhead mass. This has allowed Callaway engineers to design a
clubhead that has a
more precise moment of inertia and center of gravity than ever
before, and will beat any all-titanium driver hands
down for power and distance!
Callaway use the same special chemically milled
hyperbolic
acid reduction process on the
Diablo Octane Driver as they did
on the Diablo
Edge. This enables them
to vary the
thickness and accurately distribute the weight across the
club face
to optimize the effective hitting area, which results in more
accuracy and greater distance, even on the miss hit drives.
The aerodynamic body design optimizes all edge
transitions to reduce wind resistance and drag by up to 8%,
giving you greater
clubhead speed and consequently more distance off of the tee, and
Callaway's S2H2 technology which moves the shaft tip closer to the sole
of the club by shortening the hosel, helps to give you superior feel
and control over your drives.
The new
Callaway Diablo Octane Driver
has also been fitted
with a
longer 46 inch shaft. This 'Project X 46 inch Graphite Shaft'
along with the lighter and more efficient clubhead will help you to
generate more clubhead speed on your downswing, which will of course
give you more distance off of the tee.
Callaway
have also created the
Callaway Diablo Octane Tour Driver,
which has been designed specifically for the more accomplished and
highly skilled golfers.
The main differences are that the shaft is attached to
the head
using a
hosel, and the head size is slightly smaller, measuring 450cc instead
of 460cc in the Callaway Diablo Octane Driver.
