Eye line over the ball – having you eye line directly over or
just slightly inside the ball puts you in the best position to
accurately view the line of your putt.
Body
Motion Limited – too many moving body parts during your golf putting stroke just increases the margin for
error when trying to
accurately hit the line you are aiming for and get a good contact on
the ball.
Clubface
square to the target – if the clubface is not initially
square to the target when addressing the ball in your
golf putting setup, you will either hit the
putt along the wrong line or have to make an adjustment during the stroke to compensate.
Ball
position forward of centre – to get the truest roll on the
ball, the best point at which to strike the ball is just after the
lowest point of the putting stroke, when the putter is slightly on the
rise.
Accelerate
through the ball – decelerating or quitting on impact
with the ball is one of the biggest mistakes poor putters can make.
Hitting
the sweet spot – every putter will have its sweet spot
which is usually found in the centre of the putter, any hits outside of
this area will effect the roll and distance of the putt, so finding the
sweet spot every time will ensure consistency.
Be
comfortable – any unnecessary tension or stress in the body
will only end up impacting the consistency of your golf putting
performance!
