To
be able to
consistently and accurately judge how far your pitch shots are
going to travel and with how much elevation, means that you need to
have an exceptional awareness of how long your back swing needs to be,
as well as understanding how much you need to open the club face and
where to position the ball in your stance.
Although your ball position and club face angle can be addressed at
setup and before you even play the golf shot, having that extra
pressure of trying to accurately feel and measure the length of you
back swing and follow through for each individual golf pitch shot that
you have to face, can create additional stress and tension in
your muscles.
It's this additional stress and tension that can lead to all sorts of
errors and mistakes, and makes these kind of shots so difficult to
master! Although focusing on maintaing a good rhythm and learning
a solid golf pitching technique will certainly
help, the best way to improve your golf chipping
abilities is through practice and gaining experience.
If you are serious about improving your golf pitch shots and
looking
for some inspirational advice on how to
take your short game and golf pitching to the next level, then
i
would highly recommend that you get a copy of
Phil Mickelson's
excellent golf instructional book called
